A big congratulations to salon group Saks, who have now raised more than £100,000 for women’s cancer charity The Eve Appeal.
The current total sits at £102, 251.24 as the group, which launched in 1974, continues their fundraising efforts.
The group decided to partner with The Eve Appeal, which raises awareness and funds for essential research into the five cancers that only affect women – cancer of the ovaries, cervix, vagina, vulva and womb, in 2015.
And since then Saks salons up and down the country along with staff and customers have raised vital funds doing a range of activities from sky dives to zip wires and bake sales to raffles.
Athena Lamnosis, chief executive of The Eve Appeal commented: “We are lucky to have such an amazing partner, with all the salons committed to go above and beyond talking to women, making some noise and raising funds and awareness about the signs and symptoms of the five gynae cancers. I would like to say on behalf of the whole of team Eve – staff, volunteers, patients and researchers – a HUGE thank you; your dedication has been an inspiration to all of us.”
Saks Managing Director Stephen Kee added: “We chose Eve because they’re all about women – which is at the heart of the Saks brand. Our special partnership takes our desire to look after women to another level. And Saks people have all embraced raising funds and awareness with great gusto. When a hair stylist or beauty therapist chats to a Saks customer about the importance of seeing a doctor to get checked out it makes us all incredibly proud.
“Our message to Eve, having achieved our original goal? #Saks4Eve business as usual. Fundraising and raising awareness continues apace!”
